5th Grade
Welcome new students!!
Please become familiar with the 5th strings calendar. This online version of 5th grade strings calendar is the most current version available and should be referenced if you have any questions about class dates.
Materials required for class:
- Instrument & bow
- Essential Elements for Strings, Book 1
- Any sheet music or handouts
- Pencil
- Rosin & cleaning cloth
August Check:
The start of 5th grade strings is quickly approaching. Here are a few VERY important details that you need to know:
1. Make sure you have registered on this website. A link is on the main home page and also on the new students area for 5th grade. I will be mailing an info letter to everyone who is on the registration list. ALSO, this is what is sent to central office so we know that you are riding the bus to strings.
2. All students get their first choice of instrument. I do not want to crush your dreams by telling you what to play, you pick what speaks to you.
3. You should be getting ready to rent an instrument if you have not already done so. You still have a few weeks to go, but please secure one soon. Rental shops are located on the links section of the menu bar.

A Days: Riverside, Olde Sawmill and Wright elementary schools. B Days: Chapman elementary.
5. You should also start thinking about concert dress. Your first performance is October 25th. You will need to have concert attire:
Ladies: White top with at least short sleeves, black pants/capris/knee-length skirt. Shoes are your choice. Please make sure they are comfortable and look nice.
Gentlemen: White top (polo or dress shirt), black pants, black socks, black dress shoes are preferred.
