Davis was well represented in the Columbus Chamber Strings performance at the State Music Education Conference this past weekend. Our four Davis orchestra students are members of this prestigious ensemble. They played an excellent concert under the direction of Dr. Gillespie. Congrats JinHo, Danielle, Jin Young, and Ross!

Congrats goes out to our SUPERIOR rated musicians who performed today in Upper Arlington. All of our students received superior ratings! Congrats on your hard work! Lina (piano too!), Anna, Janelle, Emi, Imran, Sophia, Yuuki, Stephanie, Farnaz, Hannah, Danielle, and Rachel.

Fiddle Fusion Trip on 12/8

Fiddlers:
**Rehearsal before school on Thursday!!
You will be called down to the orchestra room around 10:30am. Please be ready to go. You will need the following:
-dress in fiddle shirt and jeans
-lunch money (Wendy’s or McDonald’s)
-your instrument
I will have the books ready to go. Remember, you cannot get on the bus unless you have turned in a permission slip. We will eat first, then play at the Claremont Retirement Community. We should be back to school no later than 1:30pm.

Outstanding performances from all of our orchestras last Thursday! I am so pleased with the concert. Thank you for your hard work. The next few weeks will be focusing on holiday tunes and back to bookwork.

Winter Concert Information

ALL Orchestra students are performing at the winter concert this Thursday. Here is everything you need to know:

Date: Thursday, December 1st

Location: Scioto High School Aud. (students report to the band room for unpacking and tuning)

Times: 5th and 6th grade: PLEASE arrive by 6pm, your concert begins at 6:30pm

Fiddles, 7th, and 8th grade: report by 7:30pm, your concert begins at 8pm

All students are responsible for their own instruments. All students need to be in full concert attire.

**Grades 5-7 need to bring in $2 cash for after concert party, 8th grade $3. PLEASE bring this in before the concert sometime this week. Students do not need instruments on the first class day following the concert as they will be watching the concert video.
